SETBP1 Society Grant Application

SETBP1 Society is pleased to announce the availability of our seed grant program to encourage and support patient oriented research on SETBP1 disorder. The intent of the grant is to support well-defined research projects that have a specific benefit for improving the treatment, health, disorder management, or diagnosis of individuals with SETBP1 disorder. Consideration will also be given to studies that contribute to the body of medical knowledge of SETBP1 disorder.

The program is open to applicants worldwide and will consist of one-year grants. SETBP1 Society anticipates awarding 2 grants in 2018 with values ranging from $5,000 to $25,000. Schedule for Grant Applications:

  • Letter of Intent (LOI) Deadline: Sunday, July 22, 2018
  • Notification of approved LOI applicants to submit full grant application: September 1, 2018
  • Full Grant Application Deadline: October 5, 2018
  • Grant Approval Announcement by: November 30, 2018
  • Funds available: December 1, 2018
  • Applications are reviewed in detail by SETBP1 Society’s medical and scientific advisors and are discussed as a group to determine funding priority based on SETBP1 Society’s research criteria. A prioritized list is then forwarded to SETBP1 Society’s Board of Directors for final funding decisions. The grant selection process is unbiased and independent; awards are based solely on scientific merit and expected contribution to the body of knowledge about SETBP1 disorder. Advisors and board members with a conflict of interest will not participate in voting for those specific applications.

    Application Process

    1. Download and complete the Letter of Intent application.
    2. Attach the following: bio-sketches, letters of support/recommendation, publication lists, and letters from collaborators agreeing to participate.
    3. Submit the completed application with attachments to research@setbp1.org.
    4. For Letter of Intent applicants who receive approval, complete the Grant Application.

    The application, along with the attachments, must be assembled and submitted electronically as a single PDF to research@setbp1.org.
